Dont you know it. For me it builds up depending on if i pick up 2 titles im wary about. Sept only 6-8 dvd's, October 9-11 dvd's , November is the month of the box sets with dvd's on top of that. December who knows.

I feel the pain. At last check, I had over 20 titles on my must-buy list for August 28th alone. Luckily many of them were MGM and thus not too expensive. But the next couple months are practically overwhelming. I'm glad Back to the Future and Indy are put off to 2002 or whenever!!

When I'm on trial for bankrobbery, do you think they'll accept my excuse of "extreme dvd addiction"? It's a disease, dammit!

I promised my girlfriend and family that I wouldn't buy DVDs in November (already made an exception for X-Files 4 though) and December. Instead I'll just be giving them a list. Unfortuantely, September and October are beating me up though. Oh well. Its only money.

You have the Criterion version of Silence of the Lambs, no?
All good lists, BUT you lost me on "The Goonies" ?!?!?!
Wasn't that some sort of bad Gremlins type ripoff?

No, The Goonies is not some kind of "bad Gremlins ripoff"!
While the reaminder of the year has TONS of DVD releases I want to get, my only "must immediately get right away" titles are:
The Goonies
Silence of the Lambs
Forrest Gump
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
The Princess Bride
Heathers
An American Werewolf in London
The Simpsons - Season 1
The Godfather
The Terminator
Snow White
The Phantom Menace
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Shrek
I'm going to hold off on Memento for a little while in the hopes that it may get a SE treatment. I'm not holding my breath, though.

i.e. Goonies...I must be thinking of something else in regard to Gemlins.
I just read some reviews of Goonies. apparently, it was an "growing up in the 80's" classic. I'm a 70's kid, guess I missed that one in my college haze. :)

oy i wish their was a list of all upcoming releases somewhere, that's updated more often than dvd talk's list. i'd somehow'd missed the fiddler on the roof SE, oh well thank god for HTF. Being a poor highschool student that's trying to save up for the JBL NSP1 five speaker set and a sub, i'm tryign really hard to limit myself to one title a week, but unfortunatley there are so many! and so many catalouge titles i want to get as well!
08/21 The Goonies
08/28 Forrest Gump
09/04 Princess Bride SE, and Little Man Tate
09/25 Simpsons Season one
10/02 Terminator SE
10/09 Godfather box
10/09 Snow White
10/16 Star Wars Ep 1
10/23 From Here to Eternity
11/06 Empire of the Sun
11/06 Doctor Zhivago
11/06 Shrek
11/?? Moulin Rouge
12/18 A.I.
arrgh and those are the absolute essentials that i must get, not beginning to touch on the many other titles that I'd like to get.
My friends all think i'm insane to spend so much on dvd... Well at least I now know I'm not alone!

Well, let's see what the DVD shopping list currently looks like for just the next two weeks (those marked with a star I'll probably pass on at least for now, unless I can find them really cheaply):
8.21
Batman the Movie SE
Cat in the Brain
Goonies *
Hannibal SE
Maniac LE
Schlock
Silence of the Lambs SE
3 Stooges Dizzy Doctors
Viy *
Waiting for Guffman *
Wicker Man LE
8.28
Abbott & Costello Meet the Mummy
Blow Out *
Carrie SE
Count Yorga Vampire
Dr. Mabuse the Gambler
Dracula's Daughter/Son of Dracula
Dressed to Kill *
Dunwich Horror
Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man/House of Frankenstein
Fritz Lang Circle of Destiny *
Invaders from Mars *
Island of Dr. Moreau *
It! The Terror from Beyond Space
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Mars Needs Women
Mary Pickford A Life in Film *
Monster that Challenged the World
Mummy's Ghost/Mummy's Curse
Mummy's Hand/Mummy's Tomb
Planet of the Vampires
Reptilicus
Rock & Roll High School SE *
Son of Frankenstein/Ghost of Frankenstein
Theatre of Blood
Twice Told Tales
Werewolf of London/She-Wolf of London.
Thankfully, Willy Wonka was dropped off the list due to Warner's ineptitude. Say, not many Warner titles on the list! Coincidence? I think not!
wink.gif
MGM and Universal know much better how to separate me from my bank account.
Hopefully I will get some of these to review and relieve the pain a little!!!!
