I am looking to buy a 30'' TV for the bedroom. I have been looking at the Samsung 3096 but are there any new models on the way? My budget is about $900-1000. I just don't want to buy the Samsung and have something newer come out right away.

Phillips has a Super Nice one at Sam's Club. Model # is 30PW8520. $888.99 is their price and I can't find anyone else even close to their price. Check the Phillips site for more specs.

The 2003 Samsungs appear to be a week or two from hitting the stores.

I saw this Samsung in the paper today in a best buy add. Looks nice. It's 1080i capable (you'll need a set topdecoder for High Def material), and seems kind of nice for $999. I know nothing about it.......

    Update:

I think this is not the newest model. Apparently, I don't think this has DVI inputs, which you would need for future upgradeability (though not for OTA HD broadcasts). I think I read that the newest Samsungs will be out in a few weeks......

Jeff, that is indeed the 2002, not the soon-to-be-appearing 2003. 2002 was TXM, 2003 will be TXN.

Jack, that set is 4:3, not 16:9 (despite how it may appear in that picture, which is obviously taken from a funny angle).
