I don't believe that's the case, and anyway it's not a material distinction.
Further, you are incorrect about advanced being equivalent to VC-1, the VC-1 spec includes all the simple/main and advanced profiles, not just advanced. VC-1 is the complete codec and all its functionality across a range of resolutions, not just HD delivery at high bitrates.
