I'm not having a lot of luck finding real world info on power tools. Are there any sites like ours where one can go and find some recommendations on power tools?

There are several that I like here they are with my favorite first. Some of the furniture these guys build in their spare time is amazing. The woodworking community will be pretty helpful when it comes to helping someone buy new tools.

This ought to get you started! Also many of the people in the DIY section of this site are pretty knowledgeable about tools with experience gained in speakerbuilding. Especially in regards to routers, drills, tablesaws, etc.

I work in a warehouse for a local power tool sales and service place, does that count for anything? [IMG]

http://www.woodworking.org/ is another I'd add to the list. Note that these sites are more woodworking related (vs. carpentry related). Tool recommendations will vary based on the application...
