I bought a used copy of the 'The Thing' and the cover is badly water damaged.

Checked dvdcoverart.com, but can't remember my old password.

Created a new account, but you don't even get one free dl anymore.

Are there any free DVD cover sites left?

That's probably to keep people from just creating a new account when they need a cover. I'd support the site, and will when I start converting a lot of my discs. Maybe someone here could help you out?

There is a cover done by Johnf14 for the 1950's "The Thing". I can email you a copy if you like.

    Thanks guys,

Tried cdcovers but the scan of the 1982 version was overly dark and missing lots of detail.

I'm guessing they use smaller data sets to reduce their bandwith.

Had the goofy idea that I could use a color copier to get a cleaner duplicate of my waterdamaged cover insert.

Copier reproduced all the warping and every wrinkle...

Frank, it actually takes quite a bit of work to make good covers, even if they are just scans, which you found out at cdcovers.

Maybe a dvdcoverart contributor would be willing to use a credit to download a cover and send it to you.

    Wow, you guys are great.

I've gotten 3 offers to send me the cover insert.

Opi is going to send it over.

If there's any problems, I give a shout.

    Thanks!

I've seen admins at dvdcoverart offer to send a cover for a guy in need. As I said in my email, if your email won't dl it because of size, I have an ftp.

    Thanks everyone.

Opi sent me a 3MB+ cover scan.

I'll wait till I have some heavy grade paper before trying to print.
