Are there any camcorders that record 16x9 anamorphic? (1 Viewer)

I haven't started looking yet, but was wondering if there are some camcorders out there that record in anamorphic 16x9?

Yes. I have the Sony HC42. It is not HD, but natively records in 16:9. The LCD screen is also 16:9. It has an option to record in 4:3, but we never use it. It's about $500, if you get it on sale, buy tapes, carry bag, etc. Plusses - Carl Zeiss lens, intuitive menus, touch screen, analog inputs.

Minuses - limited optical zoom -- 12x.
