Risky thread this one. Let's see if it lives!
Since I only own about 15 DVD's I have to say YES!
Freud would probably would have connection between the two, but I think Camaro and Corvette owners are a more obvious target.
I'm hung like a french bread so I don't see the connection between large collection of discs and a small d***.
Now those LD collectors.....
What about women who drive nice cars. What are they making up for?
As for your question, I have about 200 DVDs:
1.If your talking about lacking in the schlong department, the answer is "NO"(Im Black and Jewish).
2.Lacking the desire to go out and socialize because Id rather stay home, well "Yes" Im guilty of that.
Well, duh, they are making up for a small VHS collection.
Probably as much as gun owners are.
Yes, yes we are.
I admit it, I collect DVDs to make up for my dissapointing, miniscual, oh-so-small
collection of Etruscan bronzes.
I can't tell you how many times a lady has come over, one thing has lead to another, and soon she asks me about my Etruscan brozes. Well, I try and distract her as much as I can with my other qualities ("have you ever listened to Gladiator at reference levels?").
But remember, if you can satisfy your date with other things, it doesn't really matter how big your Etruscan broze collection is.
I just keep telling myself that.
But then again, late at night when I'm watching Howard Stern I see these commercials where a really hot centerfold from "Art History for Men" says that there is a pill you can take to grow your Etruscan bronze collection, and it's money-back guaranteed. Has anyone tried this? Were the results what you hoped for?
On a point of pedantry, although as a psychologist I spit at the very mention of psychoanalysis, I've got to say that the idea of over-compensation is Adler's, not Freud's.
In any case, I don't think it's a matter of how many DVDs you've got as how strong the urge is to tell everyone else about it ...
Incidentally, genital size is not correlated with length of any other part of tbe body. Given that I'm 6ft 9 inches tall, all I can say to this is damnit, damnit, damnit.
20 year old University student with 200+ dvds and no social life. It could be argued I'm over compensating, sure.
I have several hundred DVDs, an old Camaro, and just recently sold my Corvette. (not making this up!)
Oh, the humanity.:b
I'm sure that my affinity for collecting things makes up for a lack of something, but it ain't that.
Analyze me, baby!
I'd be willing to bet that Dugger is.
What about women with big DVD collections? I own a big DVD collection and the only think I'm lacking is money.
Jasen, no nitpicking intended. In fairness, practically everybody thinks it's Freud (including a lot of psychologists!).
Ah well, shall get back to licking my eyebrows and wondering why I'm so attractive to some women.
