I thought the thread was for HT? If so then dipoles dipoles dipoles unless you prefer monopoles.
Paul. If you get dipoles today you'll all set to add 2 monopoles for your 7.1 setup. Difference is you'll enjoy better HT performance now.
I personally think monopoles are more of a compromise in HT than dipoles in multichannel music as of right now. Simply cause right now, there aren't that many good multichannel music that is out there. Most of their surround information are for reverb purposes such as room acoustics and crowd noises while few supply a direct sound such as a voice or instrument.
