I want to get a VGA cable for my XBOX HDDVD player in order to upconvert standard DVDs. But I cant tell if my TV Samsung HL-S5688W has that particular input.

Here are the connections for the tv...

Connections (Video Terminals):
AV in 2 rear/ 1 side
S-Video In 2
RF In 1 rear
Monitor and Sound Out 1 rear
Component Video Input (Y/Pb/Pr) 2
HDMI input 2 rear
PC audio input 1
USB 1 side
Analog L/R input 5 sets (1 side, 4 rear)
analog L/R output 1 set rear
D-Net IEEE 1394
RS232C 1

yes, you can use the PC input-- it's a 15 pin d-sub connector next to a mini-jack. (check to see that it's physically present-- some samsung tvs may share manuals)

Side note-- why all the manufacturers assume that a minijack to minijack connector is more convenient than one of those RCA to minjack cables?

Of course, your display does have hdmi connections, so you could just use a real dvd player. :)
