If not, what would you suggest as a good yet reasonably priced one. Early reply sincerely appreciated. Thanks

To add to the thread that Phil provided a link to, if you want bragging rights, you can also get a glass, as opposed to plastic fiber, toslink from MCM for a little under $30.

    Try this.

Now I ain't saying your audio or video is now going to have timing, depth, darkness, clarity, 3-dimensionality, better soundstage or any of that. It's just a good price if you want a glass toslink cable.

Went to the MCM site and in the process of ordering got a popup saying there was a security problem between MCM and my computer, have you ordered from them and did you get a similar popup. Thanks

No popup here. Just call them and place the order over the phone. They're a very reliable company.

go to rat-shack or bb and pick up a 30 dollar optical (acoustic research is decent). it *will* work perfectly. then, if you're feeling up to it, buy a boutique cable and see if you notice a difference.

considering the lengths most of us are going to use, a couple of meters...nope. it is a theoretically more elegant approach and if the dollars were the same or nearly so, i'd opt for the glass. offhand though, even the MCM cable is vastly overpriced. I seem to recall when they first carried it the price was about 1/2 of what's there now. however, once they realized it was being scoffed up by 'audiophiles', the price went up a bunch. Hell, these things cost pennies to make!
