Is there an archival program, like a DVD Profiler, for music CDs? Can anyone recommend one?
There's Readerware, available on Windows, Mac, Linux and Palm:
For mac users, there's the DVDPedia companion, CDPedia:
I'm not a DVDProfiler user, & am not sure what comparable features you are looking for...
I used to use guzzlefish cos it was free (& not because it was good).
I just downloaded Music Collector , which seems to have all the functions & flexibility I need. I thought it was pricey, but looking at Readerware recommended above, appears to be about right. You can download a trial version to see if it works for you.
I put my disc in my drive, Music Collector scans for CD ID & goes out to freedb and retail web sites to pull in available data & art files. I can input the UPC and pull more info, and I can modify the record locally (changing 'Various' to 'Various Artists' for example). All of this takes a bit of time depending upon how much you want to control the data...& whether you are satisfied with the data available in the free dbs and the un-modified presentation of that data.
The program will allow you to export as html, so you can upload to web.
Hope this helps,
