Alan, I second the existence of th 1992 P&S Trilogy. I just picked up a pristine set of them -- open but I doubt they've ever been played. OK, I dislike P/S,
but it's a completist thing.
Epi IV 5651-80 (1992) 119 minutes 1 disc
ESB 5652-80 (1992) 119 minutes 1 disc
RotJ 1478-80 (1992) 132 minutes 2 disc
The RotJ has the same catalog number as the 1986 P/S release. The 1992 P/S are also time compressed single disc releases so I think they may have just re-released the early 80's versions of IV/V with digital sound added. I'm not sure if they cleaned up the transfers or not. I haven't had a chance to watch them yet and compare.
If I'm not mistaken THN had 2 different releases in P/S in 1982 -- one under a Fox label at 118 minutes and the other 20th Century Fox at 116 minutes. I think there was some interesting political stuff about this, but I've long forgotten the details.
