My friend managed to get ($300!!!!) 2 583LR boxes, BRAND NEW floorstanding huge mains.

Any input on the best way to sell these (obviously for him to profit) would be appreciated and for how much would be valid as well.

He has a set of main speakers. No confusion.

They are worth about $20.00 per pair "in the metro trading
area"

AudioFile is a White Van Scam brand and your friend got
hosed.. Sorry about that..

You may want to check www.audioreview.com for reviews of
the 583LR's but be forwarned you won't like what you read.

Holy shit, he got scammed!!!!???!!

The guy on the phone said they were Bose and such and I was optimistic when I saw them..damn man, he sold them to him at a gas station saying he had a few extra from a shipment.

I'm not getting any results for 583LR in any way...
link?

Bert,

These Scam companies are always changing thier names and
model numbers to mimick "well known" companies. It doesn't
matter what the model number is, the fact is that they are
White Van Scam speakers (AudioFile is a White Van Scam Brand)
And your friend got taken. I would say I feel sorry he got
taken but people really should know better than this.. If
someone approached me on the street to buy speakers I would
never buy them I know better.

At best they are honestly worth about $100.00 a pair I think
that is what the White Van drivers pay wholesale for them
from the company that markets the rubbish.

Other Van Scam speakers are:

Epihany
Dogg Digital Audio
Digital Audio Design
Digital
Acoustic
ParaDyme
Danish
Denmark

And I am sure 20 more I am forgetting..

Very true it wasn't smart to buy them, but this guy told me that they were a 5.1 Bose system valued at $1200, and I wanted my friend to profit so after some questioning (and the validation by a friend who was physically there) I encouraged him to get them, afterall, at that point I was thinking he'd profit, not knowing it is the pieces of shit they are.

Thanks
