Was just reading an article on MacRumors just now that says 30% of the people who watched "Greyhound" on it's first weekend were new subscribers to Apple TV+.

It will be interesting to see if Apple can swing a deal for any of the larger movies currently sitting on the shelf. Amazon just bought "Without Remorse" from Paramount which couldn't have been low budget...

I watched "Greyhound" last night. Looks like they're using the chance to self promote to those 30%. It's one of those "here's all you can see from our studio" montages you used to get on DVDs. I don't think I've see Apple run commercials or self-promotions on any other Apple TV+ program before.

The movie itself was merely ok. Way too much of the film was just barking navigational commands on which way to turn or shoot, then repeating them through the ranks. Hanks is not a writer. If you want a Hanks military or sea movie, then either Private Ryan or Captain Phillips are much better.

This was a no brainer. I cancelled commercial free CBSAA that I pay $10 a month for via Prime, and subscribed via ATV+ channels. I can’t say I would have thrown down to get Showtime individually, but it is essentially free vs. what I was paying for previously.

So the ATV+ version is also commercial free?

"Through this bundle, Apple TV+ subscribers can enjoy both the CBS All Access Commercial Free plan and SHOWTIME at an incredible price. CBS All Access includes ad-free, on-demand television series, movies, and children’s programming"

Remember too that you can share this $9.99/month bundle with 6 other people through Family Sharing...

The first year of free Apple TV+ will be ending in a few months for most of their original "free-year" subscribers. To continue the $9.99 CBSAA/Showtime bundle, one must be an Apple TV+ subscriber.

Somewhat of a move to keep Apple TV+ subscribers going and adding the $5.99 subscription. With the pandemic affecting production, I wonder when the 2nd Seasons of Morning Show, See, For All Mankind, and Apple's other 1st year series will begin.

My plan, currently, is to cancel and then subscribe for a single month and binge-watch the shows I am invested in and then cancel again.

I can't keep paying these monthly subscription fees for all these services, software, etc.
