My Apple TV 4K is working fine with my 940E. I have it set to 4K HDR at 60Hz. Chroma is set to 4:2:2. It is connected to my Pioneer A/V receiver which is connected to HDMI port #2 on the Sony 940E.

My only complaint is the Apple TV is in HDR mode even when watching SDR content. That leaves the TV in HDR mode with brightness at max.

Apple really should turn off HDR mode when non HDR content is being streamed.

This is my biggest complaint. I find it also makes the home screen very dull compared to when it’s in SDR mode.

That would really bug me, too. It's one of the reasons I am hesitant to buy one.

I sent feedback to Apple to ask them to fix the lack of switching between SDR and HDR modes based on content. I can manually switch my Apple TV 4K to SDR mode but then HDR content is in SDR. Dumb!
