    Aric,

Check the MacNN site...Apple is lowering prices on some older models as part of the introductions.

While definitely true Glenn, it's worth noting that with the price cuts, you can replace everything that was dropped and still come out ahead. And Aric, the new 60 GB iPod photo is only $50 more then the 40 GB monochrome iPod was, and $50 less then the 40 GB photo.

Oh, and this price drop just seriously solidified Apple's position in the market. They now have every major price point covered from $100 to $450 in $50 increments except the very top. That's gonna put some major squeeze on competitors.

Well, looks like I will be taking the plunge now. Still haven't totally decided which to get though...the mini is tempting with the price drop, but I'm not keen on any of the colors (silver is so passe now [IMG]). More than likely I'll go for the 20 since my music collection has yet to top 10GB and it would be nice to have it all backed up somewhere. A price drop there would have been extra special...
