Welcome everyone taking part in today's discussion.

Was hoping for a live streamed event, but it was announced that
Apple would not provide one.

Lots of sites have their own live coverage which we will be monitoring.

I will post all the announcements in the top post (above this one) as they happen.

Can't believe Apple is not streaming this kind of thing. You are unveiling two new phones for God's sake.

Sam, what is the Megapixel count on the new phone? Did they make that clear?

More then a few people not so happy no black option. So far, I haven't seen anything I go "wow" yet.. though the finger sensor is nice. No idea on the megapixel on the camera... when everyone else is posting 16/21/41 Megapixels, I'm wondering where they are coming in.
The 5C is a great option for the low cost, seems like a toned up 4/4S model rebadged at a lower price point.

The fewer the megapixels the better. 4-5 mpx is fine with high quality fat pixel sensors.
Sam, you are definitely in the fan boy camp :) Care to trade me your DSLR, I have a great Sony that records 4MP photos onto a floppy disk :)

Edit: and FYI, their "increase" in sensor size of 15% still puts it with a sensor significantly smaller then the Samsung Galaxy III and WAY smaller then the Nokia 1020...
