Anyone have any info on this new Portable coming from APEX. I've gotten the Website but it only listssummer 2002 as the date it's out. Supposedly Walmart has been adverting this already at a $199 price point. Not bad for a 5.8 inch wide screen.
If you call up Wal-Mart they tell you that the screen is actually 4.7 inches... Even though Apex's website lists it as 5.8 I'm thinking of getting one, just for the price. I don't care if it's a postage stamp, It's better than what I have now (nothing). I'd just like to see it first. Jim
They are limiting these to one per household and they posted a correction to the screen size. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...A62055%3A62056
I broke down and ordered one... if there's a problem, can probably return it to Wal-Mart, but for $200, I'll give it a try. It'll be nice to have a 7th DVD player... won't it? Jim
This is awesome. Svideo output and digital out put! What kind of battery and how long of battery life? Can you buy extra batteries??
Hiya Gregg, Well the PD200 the model up lists a 3.5 hour battery pack, but this model does not list anything concerning power on the website. I have to admit I'm pretty interested in getting one. I'd like to hear a quality report first. With the amount of travelling you do I'd imagine it would come in handy.
This is interesting, that model is what is pictured on APEX's site as the PD100, the PD50 is pictured as looking like the PD200. I wonder if this is an error at the site. Does this model look to have a 16x9 screen it does'nt look to to me.
I've been doing a little research I checked on Amazon and these Apex players look suspiousously Identical to Audiovox models 1500& 1700. If you look at the customer ratings the 1700 which is similar to the PD200, is rated as not being very good. The 1500 which is similar to the one at Walmart gets OK ratings. Check it out.
Hmmm... my circuler says "Online Only" but you're defiantly luckier, since this player is now out of stock at Walmart.com, and my order is now in status "Backordered"... Hope that it get here soon, I have a hankering to play with my new toy . Anyway, was serching out info, and found a PDF file from Sound and Vision that gave a terse statement about it... http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/pdf...s_bargains.pdf Jim PS -- the screen looks to be 4x3
