I was wondering if anybody has purchased a region-free DVD player, and whether or not it was worth the money? I recently bought an APEX AD-3201 player, as it has a menu that allows you to play discs from other regions. From what I have read, it will also convert PAL format to NTSC format, and the only problem I should encounter is that PAL format discs with anamorphic widescreen will be sort of "stretched" unless I get a converter to allow my television to display it properly. I have some region 2 PAL discs coming next week, so I will find out for sure whether it works or not with the foreign discs. I have heard/read mixed reviews of APEX players, but I have had no problems with it thus far, and for $120.00 it was worth a try even if just for the fact that it will play other regions (even if not, it blows away my ancient RCA player that I have been dying to replace). Anyway, any feedback from anybody else who has one of these or anybody who has better ideas as far as region-free players go will be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.
