I am considering going with the Verizon
$60 unlimited nationwide access for my
laptop computer.

The initial cost to get in is $99 for
the PCI modem and a one-time $25 activation
fee.

The problem?

Besides the fact that I will be stuck in
a two-year contract, there's the extremely
poor-rated PCI Audiovox modem that Verizon
gives you with the deal. From the reviews
I have read, people aren't happy with it.

I plan to go to the Verizon store tomorrow
and see what kind of deal I can talk them
into as far as getting a better PCI card.

Anybody have the Verizon nationwide broadband
for their laptop? Could use some insight on
how good/bad the service and speed of it is.

Thanks in advance.

i don't have verizon, but i do have cingular's service and i have no problems, give or take the occassional service outage that is a given for the wireless industry. of course it is not as fast as the comcast service that i have (6mb down) but to be cable free and constantly mobile it is worth the 79.99 that i pay montly for it.

as far as cards go, usually providers only have one device for that segment as no to many folks are taking the trip that we are taking. so your quest may come up fruitless. keep us updated.
