I just purchased a Toshiba Pocket PC e740 and read somewhere that some PDAs were able to function as all-in-one remotes for a Home Theater.
Anyone have any knowledge about this...especially if there is REMOTE software available out there for Pocket PCs.
I'd love to be able to utilize this PDA with my HT somehow. I'd also be interested in chatting with owners of the Toshiba e740....thanks!

There are several PDA applications that are available that will do this. if you check tucows.com there are several available. I have tried on (Sorry can't remember which one) that were learning and were pretty powerful as far as macro's and things of that source. The problem that I had with both a PalmIII and my Handspring that I have now is that the IR transmitter on them were not very powerful so there was very limited range. There is an external IP transmitter that is available for them, but by time you buy it and the software you could probably get a pretty decent learning remote. Another problem that I had was that If I had my PDA with me, my wife could not use it as a remote for the HT. I ended up getting a ProntoNEO for about $130.00 that works great. YMMV
