I only did one(the center) because I knew it would be hidden.

    Has anyone else tried this?

The manual says to spray paint them, but how likely is it to match my walls..this is unrealistic.

The one I used a roller on. It looks decent, but I am not wowed, it didn't give me the effect I was looking for. I just left them all white for now.

Looking for tips and success stories in regards to this.

I have them (7 altogether) and I spray-painted them all with the aerosol spray paints. You're right; getting the color match is tricky but in my case they came out looking fine.

I had to apply multiple coats to get them looking even.
