I'm still waiting on my copy from buy.com that I pre-ordered May 4th....
Luckily I ran to Suncoast and bought one.
Anyone know how to get a live person on the phone there? They are really ticking me off!! I cant believe pre-ordering that early still didnt get one.
this will be the last time i buy from them

Same here.
I pre-ordered in April! When it didn't ship I emailed a complaint. Their response was "we were unable to recieve stock". Had I not contacted them, I would still be waiting without any notification.
I won't be using them anymore.

Well, I ran into the same situation with 800.com. Preordered early and they never got stock.

this is a timely thread..
i received my buy.com order today (18 aug) and i had placed my order back on 7 may..
not only that, but i had forgotten about it and had already gotten one from amazon..
so, whilst it is incredibly late, it seems that they are indeed fulfilling orders on the tin.

I didn't even pre-order my Akira tin. I bought mine from a local comic shop after it was relesed. I would recommend searching in local comic shops. Couldn't hurt.

I know you won't believe me, but I got it 3 days early from my online retailer. Why do I say online retailer? Cuz I don't want all my preorders to get filled up before I can get them!
(I didn't order it, my dad did)

Every time a highly anticipated release hits, forums are flooded with people complaining about their pre-orders not coming through. I picked up the Akira SE tin a few days after release at Best Buy for 30 bucks, no fuss, no muss.
I prefer online to B&M for most dvd purchases. When was the last time you saw Viy or Wild Zero at a Suncoast? But for brand-new, big name releases, online pre-orders are a hit and miss proposition.
