I'm a big fan of John Frankenheimer but this one has thus-far escaped me. Anyone here know whether it's any good (both the movie itself and the DVD)? It's only about $10.00 at Fry's and I was thinking of picking it up?

Kenneth, I love this kind of movie but HOLCROFT failed to make a memorable impression on me. I remember a very muddled plot, characters I didn't really care if they lived or died, and direction that's characteristic of Frankenheimer's lesser efforts. I would say, worth about 4.99 only if you're a fan of the people involved, not 10 bucks.

It's weak Frankenheimer. It plays out like a television movie rather than a feature film despite the brief nudity. Still, it's moderately enjoyable if predictable. Try renting it first.
