Rainbow was on in the UK in the 70s and 80s and apparently that 'episode' is a fake. Funny stuff though.

Looks/sounds like a skit the crew performed on some "down-time" to me. Crap like this happens on almost every tv/film set.

Rainbow was a real show. That clip is not a real clip, and was made as a joke - apparently they used to do this quite a lot in those days, particularly around Christmas.

Yes, I've seen a similar clip from "The New Zoo Revue", a U.S. kids show from the 70's. I believe it is also on the net somewhere.

Absolutely Hilarious!! Especially, if you used to watch the show as a kid.

This thread isn't too old is it? Heh!

I just bought New Zoo Revue and did a search and found this. That clip mentioned here from youtube.com is a hoot!

I sure wish this clip was including on the season set. Even hidden so the kiddies couldn't stumble upon that bit of "higher education". :D

Awesome! Thanks. I'll order that just for a better version of that clip. $7.40 at DDD.

For adults only, includes nudity and adult language.

The memories of my childhood have now been irrevocably altered after watching that New Zoo Revue clip.

What's even funnier is the quick shot of the person with the cue card (to the right) that accidentally gets caught on camera!

Holy @#$%!! Batman! :D I like how that one says "Not for air" on it.

That could be way they went off on a wild twisted ride. The most bizarre thing is how they stay in character the whole time.

What makes that really weird is I think the voices of those characters were from different people than in the costumes.

BTW gotta find out how to post video on here now!

I meant the actors in the costumes didn't do the voices on the show- someone else did the voices. I have the Brentwood DVD set and there's people credited for the onscreen characters and different ones for the voices. So any improvisation like that would have had to be planned in advance, if that's true.

sThey were screwing around in the audio studio and the actors in the suits decided to act it out because it was so funny. I can see that. :emoji_thumbsup:
