"The game was plastic it was new in the 70's and you froze little men with plastic feet and went through a series of salt baths and showers whoever lasted to the end won. Its driving my crazy wife even further into the depths of insanity. please help!"

i found that description on ebay forum but it sounds familiar to me but i don't remember.

and a game i played in the 70's had little mushroom shaped objects that had faces painted on the tops. you would push down and lock the spring loaded toy. it was on a lrage board and when it popped it would fly up and land. but i dopn't remember what the object of the game was.

    help.

That sure sounds familiar. I remember a board game that had one of those suction cup pop up things. I think you had to get something accomplished before the thing poped up.

Unfortunately I had a friend that decided that eating toad stools would make it a better experience.

It sounds less like a game and more like a trip on LSD that I once had.

I had this thing, too! [IMG] I couldn't for the life of me remember the name, or how the game was played, but from the description I immediately remembered the little spring-loaded game pieces and their goofy faces. (Sorry, I got nuthin' on the freezer game - that one just sounds bizarre. [IMG])
Hoppin' Poppies actually came out in 1968. So let's see, we have little things that look like anthropomorphic mushrooms, but which are called poppies (source of opium), they're done up in psychedelic colors and they freak people out by popping up on their springs at odd intervals. And they're all part of a game released the year after the "Summer of Love" and before Woodstock. Yeah, I'm sure nobody involved in producing this thing was doing drugs. [IMG]

Seriously. This game advertises that it uses REAL ice cubes. I am not even sure what to think.

Yup. [IMG] Read the first post. The eBay description's "little men" probably suggests that there are molds in the shape of people, but a look at the actual game makes it clear that the "men" are just ice cubes with little plastic feet embedded in them. Then you move them over the plastic game board and try to escape the hot-water baths, salt dumps and hot washers to the head long enough to reach the end of the unmelted. What sick, twisted freak came up with this thing, anyway? [IMG]
    Regards,
    Joe

I had that game as a kid. The picture is not mine however, I just borrowed it from a website selling old games from different eras.
