Something about this reporter gets arrested for something and he can either go to jail or do an alternative punishment. The alt. punishment turns out to be this 'race' in the desert and if he can stay alive and reach the end he wins. Only other thing I know is the director currently has none of his films on DVD. I believe it came out in the 70s. I thought I had seen a foreign dvd release but since I can't remember the name I can't find it. This ring a bell for anyone? Thanks
