I saw this game for the first time not long ago and thought it was really cool (though I could live without the "balls" part. Anyway I thought it would be fun to play and, being a computer programmer I went upstairs and promptly coded it [IMG]
Check out the screen shots and a demo copy here:

If you download the demo and play be sure to let me know what you think!

I like Lingo. I just think it is too short or they need to speed up the computer when highlighting the correct letters.

It's not a bad show (I don't like the balls either), but I just wish Lingo (and the other "original programming" on GSN) would actually give away some real prizes/money. The only show where you seem to have a shot at earning some real big money is "Whammy!"

I mean, the grand prize on "Lingo" is generally less than $5,000. On "Russian Roulette," they seemed very excited when one contestant won $3,100. "Friend or Foe" seldom gives anyone more than about $6,000.

Then you watch the old reruns of "Match Game" or "Hollywood Squares" and they're giving away $20,000 and new cars on every episode. And that was in the 1970's. I'd think these new shows could offer better prizes. I know I don't have any real interest in the game when all that's at stake is a couple thousand dollars.

I agree -- the new original game shows do seem really cheap in terms of prize money; it hardly seems worth it.

I do like watching Kennedy on Friend or Foe though -- she's a weirdo but at the same time there is something interesting about her ...

So no one tried my Lingo demo? I thought I'd get some feedback ...

I was going to try out the game, because I have not seen it on Game Show so I have no idea what it is. But, I am not having success with that link.

Am I the only one with problems with the link?

ok, I just realized that I didn't do the link in my orginal post right (it had HTTP in it twice). I have edited the post to correct his. Both the home page link and the direct link should be good to go now ... sorry about that.
