In the Heat of the Night
and, of course,
Chuck Berry Hail! Hail! Rock 'n Roll

Michael, I read all the treads, sometimes I learn somthing

A Perfect Storm....never watched it

Hurricane....never watched it

Purple Rain....sort of interesting, like the music

In Cold Blood....never watched it

Twister....another never

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs....got the new DVD but have not been able to watch it yet

Some Like It Hot.....never watched it

In the Heat of the Night....never watched it

and, of course,

Chuck Berry Hail! Hail! Rock 'n Roll....never watched it

As you can see, I do not go to movies very often and I generally like comedies or SF/fantasy when I rent one

They don't claim to be anything else. What's wrong with the people who work in an industry having an award show that honors their own members?

Weather people like to hear this or not, the reality is that people in the film industry do tend to know more about the industry then just simple fans.

Of course there are always exceptions so please let's not have a slew of posts telling me I’m wrong.

Besides there are also award shows, (Peoples Choice, Golden Globe, etc.) where the winners are not voted on by people in the industry. So in the end there are awards shows that cover the entire spectrum from fan votes to industry members only.

That explains why you're reading this thread, but not why you felt compelled to post a message expressing your disdain for the thread topic. Of course, given how few movies you apparently see, I can see why the Oscars would be of little interest to you.
