The REL "news" page (www.rel.net/index.html) says they released on August 1, 2002 the REL QUAKE. (I think they used to have a product with this name, but I'm guessing this one is new?) It is very small (10 x 11.6 x 10.7 inches). I've been trying for a long time to find a good subwoofer that I can place in a small cabinet. Anyone have any knowledge about this one yet?

I guess it depends on your performance expectations. This sub has little displacement, enclosure volume, or amp power. I would not expect big performance numbers (extension or output). However, I'm sure it's built to REL's usual standards of quality.

Also, putting a subwoofer inside an enclosed cabinet is not a good idea.

    Greg,
Check out www.avforums.com. Not to be confused with AVS, its a UK HT forum. REL's get a lot more coverage over there. If there isn't anything about the Quake, post your question. People there are friendly and fast to reply. A couple members appear to have a working relationship with people on the inside at REL, so they know the scoop.
