Anyone heard anything about new editions of Spaceballs and The Howling?

Nothing's been officially confirmed as yet, but I do recall hearing that THE HOWLING was going to receive the special edition treatment from MGM. They'll probably incorporate the extras from the laserdisc s.e. At the time it came out on DVD (last Halloween or thereabouts?) MGM said that they would revisit it in a year or so. They also said the same thing about ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK. THE PRINCESS BRIDE was also in the same situation where it was revisited as a special edition by MGM after a bare bones release.

I could be wrong, maybe someone else will know for sure, but apparently HOWLING director Joe Dante wasn't too happy with the transfer on the current edition.

I wasnt even aware that there was a rumor for Spaceballs SE... Interesting... If it does come out, I would gladly replace the one I have now. This is one of my all time favorite comedies.
