I am considering getting the new model when it comes out. Should cost around $600, I would assume. How good are these TVs? For the money they seem pretty good. Are they good for DVDs?
I've had a TXM2797 for a little under a week now. It's pretty impressive. DVDs look great. Unfortunately I haven't been able to feed it an HDTV signal since Time Warner ran out of HD cable boxes.
These sets are very good for the money after calibration. I have worked on a few of the Samsung direct views and all of them are in super torch mode out of the box, but with some major tweaking they give a good picture.
If your budget minded, this is definitely a contender.
After having this set[txm2796] for over 2 years and comparing it to my parents 46inch samsung DLP tv i'm having my doubts that this set's really an HDTV and i'm thinking it's really an EDTV.
If I am looking at the 27" Samsung ( TX-P2764X). It is an HDTV, but 4:3 aspect ratio. If I watch HD broadcasts on this TV it will be letter boxed, right?
I have a samsung 27" ED tv and really like it. Have had it for 3 months now and have no probs. DVDs look so much better than SDs, it's amazing. Can't wait til I get a HDTV in 5 yrs or so
