I'm really curious about this new progressive scan player for $299 MSRP...anyone have one or know of any reviews of it?
    Thanks!

It seems like they are Pioneer-like progressive, which means that they don't include 3:2 pulldown

That is not a correct assumption.

Really? When they have the 3:2 pull-down conversion, they actually state it as "True Progressive", so why oh why they 'forgot' to type in the word 'true' for these two models?

Who are you referring to as "they" and exactly what and where are you reading this information from?

I read it from Panasonic Canada's newsletter that they sent out to reasellers. Unless that information is wrong which I sure hope so, so I can get true progressive for US$349.
    here's hoping! [IMG]

If that newsletter is anything like it's US version, then you should not be reading between the lines. It is very easy for a copywriter to write something one way in one version and different in another. Most likely the word "true" was merely added for emphasis. That is why I asked for the source of your information. In no way should something like that be used as a source of technical specifications. It is merely a marketing tool.

    Tom,
I am seriously hoping that you are right and what I'm reading is wrong so as previously mentioned, I can even get the US$299 RP-56. $799 (MSRP) for the 91 is too rich for my blood.

From the newsletter, it's scheduled for August, but then again, everything in Canada is always late by up to a year.
