For some strange reason, I've recently become interested in getting a Sega Nomad. You know the portable system which plays Genesis games? They have them for $50~$70 on eBay with the battery packs, adaptor, and a few games and I am wondering if they are any good...I've never played them. How come they weren't very popular when they came out? Too expensive or something? Do they play games really slow like the Game Gear does? If anyone has experience, I'd appreciate any information they could give. Thanks.

The Nomad was not popular for a few reasons: A) It was expensive, $200 I believe B) It ate through batteries like there was no tomorrow C) It was only available through Toys R Us.

It was defiantly a cool idea, but it just couldn't be executed well enough. To answer your question about how fast it plays games, it plays them at the same speed as the Genesis.
