anyone enjoy the count of monte cristo (1 Viewer)

i really looked forward to this movie,i did enjoy it,however i found it a little on the flat side as far as sound and pacing. guy pierce character annoyed me.i know he was the villain and was supposed to annoy me,but i think he was not convincing in the role.i know the movie was based on a famous novel witch i have not read.anyone like or dislike the movie,and how well does it follow the book,if at all.
