More and more frequently, my machine gets between 35-50 seconds into a DVD-R recording and suddenly I get a U-11 code, followed by shutdown. I thought I had faulty discs at first (I do use some cheap brands such as E20-compatible Ritek PrimeDiscs, but also others like Memorex, with which I've never had a problem before). I find if I unplug the unit for a half hour or so it generally will begin recording again (same discs that earlier had crashed), and once I get through one recording through finalization, all the rest I try work fine. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, has anyone a notion of why it happens?

Yup. I had the E20 a while back & found it to be a fussy deck with generic & Memorex DVD-Rs. I now have the HS2, which accepts almost any DVD-R I throw at it.

When I had the E20, I remember it never gave me problems with Apple & esbuy.com DVD-Rs.
