My patience with talking animals has been completely exhausted. They've done it, and done it well, but now that the technology has improved and become less expensive, we get talking animals in every fifth t.v. commercial! And the fart jokes...as with eating rich food, one can only consume so much before getting physically ill. Disney is one of the worst perpetrators with their animated characters. Sorry, but by the time the SHREK fart gag emerged (which once might have seemed funny to me), I could only roll me eyes in disgust. Another prime example of the fall (actually, the almost complete LOSS) of the Great American Screenwriter. I am also sick to death of Don LaFontain's voice-overs in trailers and t.v. promos. I hope he - and everything else I've mentioned - is just a fad that will go away real soon. What are YOU sick and tired of?

Talking animals are fine. Fart jokes are pretty annoying. And Shrek has come to bother me.

Another thing I'm really sick of:

    FAKE PEOPLE

I think some of the gross gags in Shrek were done right. They establish Shrek's character and aren't really pushed too far. That's just me, though.

I'm really sick of the formulatic teen movies and any movie that is a McDonalds ready-to-order movie. I'm talking about even movies like the new High Crimes. Movies which are made to show off the actors instead of a real plot. If the actors are great, that's fine, but it's the style and substance that makes a movie good.

John Q is the only recent movie that I feel was actually made to be worth something instead of a pile of dung. It does have a few "typical-itus," but not nearly as much as American Pie 2 or The Mummy Returns.

I hope the studios would just re-release movies from before 1985 for a year or two. I'd love to see Smokey and the Bandit in theaters again. That's how a popular movie should be done.

Crotch gags are what really annoy me. It's just not funny. It seems like every other "comedy" that comes out these days has someone getting hit/kicked/slammed/burned/chopped/nailed in the crotch, or straddling a bar, etc. They have really overdone it. Baby's Day Out is the worst offender. Ugh, that movie was a piece of crap!

Thanks, Kyle - you reminded me of yet another movie cliche that wore out its welcome after about thesecond "joke." Getting hit/kicked in the crotch is just not funny, and can even be fatal.

I hate talking animals (as a wannabe filmmaker, the success of Snow Dogs makes me wonder whether or not I am going into the right business), fart jokes (now, semen jokes, that's where it's at [IMG]), and movies in which the kid/pet/robot saves the day.
    But that's just me.
