I settled in to watch this chick flick and debated whether I'd even bother powering up the sub. I did finally get up and hit the switch :)
So they bothered with a DTS track for whatever reason. OK fine.
Well, I was *shocked* at the video transfer. Its up there with Gladiator - and its a chick flick! Anyone else notice this???

Off-topic, but I must ask.......
How can a film told from a male perspective be relegated as a "chick flick"?
Are women the only people who are interested in dramas? I just don't see why this movie is considered a "chcik flick".

I also agree that The Family Man is not a "chick flick", considering that it was directed by Brett Ratner (Rush Hour 1 & 2, Red Dragon).

Simply because, at it's heart, it's a romance. The fact that's it's so much more made it accessible to me, and I assume, many other men. I disliked Rush Hour 1 & 2, but this movie really proved Brett Ratner to me as a director.

Todd, I am guessing you might be looking for the teenage HTF forum. However, we dont have one of those here yet. You might want to check out dvdtalk.com. :)
Good flick, by the way. The kind of movie that people over 30 appreciate more I'm sure. You have to have a little life under your belt to relate.

Somebody must have gotten the term chick flick twisted around to meaning that it causes one to think and obviously men don't like to think. :)
Sorry well this guy does tend to think and this is far from a chick flick.
Think of it has It's a Wonderful Life In reverse.
BTw the soundtrack was very good and the transfer is top notch on my big old widescreen TV.

I don't care Coppola directed it - it was a C-H-I-C-K F-L-I-C-K.
But Yes I liked it alot. My point was about the *transfer*....

Gotta say I wasn't as impressed with the transfer. It was definitely good, but some edge enhancement and a few print flaws kept it from greatness...
