I'm looking forward to Wednesday, when I will be able to get Sega Sports Tennis 2K2 for my PS2. I had the original Virtua Tennis for my Dreamcast, but never got around to getting the sequel. Now I'll finally get to play it on my PS2. Can't wait!

Anyone heard anything special about it?

Tennis was one of my favorite games on Dreamcast, I hadn't heard about the PS2 version. Anybody know if there's an X Box version in the works? If not I'll just get an extra controller so I can play it on PS2.

I loved Virtual Tennis for Dreamcast so I am definitely going to have to pick this one up.

I still play Virtua Tennis on my Dreamcast when I have friends over. It is one of the best multiplayer games I have ever played, and because there is no violence everyone can play.

Wouldn't it make more sense to pick this up bargain bin for the Dreamcast (if you have one)?

I'm imagining a Crazy Taxi-esque port. Or no?

Oops, is this an entirely new version? I forgot if they had gotten to 2K1 or 2K2 with Virtua Tennis.

I'm sure the graphics will be similar/the same, but if there are more players it might be worth it.

Can someone compare for us? Thanks!

I picked up Tennis 2K2 for the Dreamcast brand new for ten bucks several weeks ago. Haven't played it much, but I think it'll hold me for a while.

I'll be getting it for the PS2 because I prefer the PS2 controller to the DC one. Besides, I don't have my DC hooked up to my HT anymore, since I got the PS2 and the XBOX.

I think the review is unlocked now. The bottom line, though: an 8.5, and "the best tennis videogame on the planet." I will be at Babbage's as soon as the game comes out.

Whoops, you are right :b. I didn't realize this computer had the cookie. Shall I post more of the review? I'd be happy to if you'd like.

I though ign unlocked their reviews after so long, but I know you want the game the day it's released, as do I. They may have changed that policy, too.

The IGN review said exactly the same thing. Looks like a keeper.

Videogames.com just put up their review: an 8.5 and "console tennis doesn't get any better than this." It's not locked yet.

I loved the first Virtua Tennis on Dreamcast, but had no intention of buying the system, so we suckered a friend into buying it and the amount of time we spent playing that game, I might as well have bought the whole set myself.

Have the PS2 version on pre-order, and my friends and I are looking forward to it.

    Just a fun multi-player game...

Just got home from work and popped this in the ol' PS2.

First impression: (Honestly) - Man, the graphics are jaggy!

Maybe it's my Wega, but the picture seems a little on the "sure could have used some anti-aliasing" side. Or, I could be on crack. Who knows?

However, after a few minutes, I'm happy to say I got over it and I'm enjoying the game very much.

Let me know what you think!

Sounds like a straight Dreamcast port.

It's a great game, and not a direct port. They did a much better job on this one than Crazy Taxi.

Tennis 2K2 on the Dreamcast is one of the best games I own. My friends can never get enough of it when playing in multiplayer (4) mode. I wonder how it stacks up to the competition.
