They are kind of getting back to their roots. Remember when it was called the Comedy Channel and John Stewart hosted a show called Short attention span theater? That brings back a lot of memories.
Anyhow, they have kind of been bombarding me with stand up lately. I love stand up, and I love comedy central. I just got done watching Tommy Davidson stand up, which was followed by back to back comics come home which will then be followed by pulp comics. Comedy Central Presents (Which is a stand up show) is on almost every night.
I could do WITHOUT the man show which is crap, and south park which is UTTER crap, and Battle bots, which is all that is crap.
Dave Attells "Insomniac" is the funniest show I have ever seen, and his stand up is incredible.
"Whatever a man, and a woman, and another woman with a penis, and a midget do to a donkey is their goddamned business"
I'm addicted to stand-up, and my crack is HBO Comedy.
They show uncensored commercial free stand-up on weeknights. I wish they had more comedians (they've only got a handful of people that have done specials), and I'm uninterested in the bad standup from the early 80's, but there's nothing like uncensored Carlin in the morning!
After watching HBO Comedy, Comedy Central's weak 3 minute censored spots don't appease my appetite.
Funny to see this thread this morning. I just watched Jim Breuer: Hardcore on Comedy Central last night. He was hillarious! If you missed it, it's on again tonight at 9:00 (4/22/02).
