has anyone built a flexy rackusing plexiglass, lucite etc...
If so do you have any reccomendations on thickness? I was thinking that half inch would do it. It is significantly more expensive than MDF but I think it could look very cool.

I would probably use acrylic if you're going to try it. And this is just a guess, but I think 1/2" is too thin. I'd say at least 3/4" or 1" if you can afford it. Also, have you thought about how you're going to polish the edges to get a smooth finish?...or are you going to have the shelves custom made?

Check the bottom of THIS page for a picture of a plexi-flexy. There is also a link to the guys email address who built it. He could probably give you some good advise.
