Ok this is definitely my favorite print yet. It came out perrrrfect. Snolabs Bloodstone filamen, Thing model by Jan Sistek studios. Imma make one as big as I can print.
Adding to this: I had to pull the 3 grub screws holding in my hot end, reseat the nozzle and tubing, and tighten it all back up. Until I did that any other filament besides Prusament was hit or miss from sticking accurately. Note: Prusa doesn't supply a hex wrench sized for these screws!
After I got all that it's working great now, printing 10+ hours a day, which I consider a huge win as someone totally new to 3D printing. But I've got 30 years of software engineering experience and tons of that interacting with hardware. If I wasn't technical this all would have been much much worse.
Now this is damn cool;

I made it into an ideas list:
Is there a practical in home use for this?
I’m seeing all these little statues being printed up and I wonder what the cost is to do that and why would I want to.
Oh absolutely. Just not for me. There are whole communities dedicated to industrial and home practical printing. That is zero interest to me. I am all for artistic applications[strikeout]of copyright infringements[/strikeout]. =p
It’s official. I really really like Printed Solid’s Jessie Blue Ice translucent filament. It’s awesome how the colors change with angle and density
Mars pro is up on Amazon. Mine is OTW.
Anyone got any experience with resin printing they can share?
Yum. Tea light fits at 115mm
I’m ready for Corona Virus!
And then this happened
Turns out Elegoo’s included file is trash. Printing my own files works great...
On the left: first print from the Mars Pro. On the right: the original from Hero Forge. Detail is damn close, original is a smudge sharper! But! I never realized they sent me a broken figure, I had used a full size staff when I created it not a 1 handed wand!!!!
Cost like an extra $5 when you order to get the 3D model to make your own copies, well worth it. You just can’t share the STL on places like Thingiverse.
