Totally hilarious.. I've got to bring my digicam in one day to work cause there is somebody at work who owns a huge-ass Excursion and he recently replaced his stock wheels with these ugly 22" looking low profile tires on them and guess what??? He uses a boot device, actually two of them on them. You know, the kind you see on cars who didn't pay their parking tickets and the cops put this boot on their wheel. Well this guy has two of them and everytime I look at it, I cannot stop laughing and break out into hives and start to a have a fit on the blacktop. Crazy stuff, I mean it makes me think the guy hasn't paid his tickets.

I think the next step is to remove his wheels every day when he goes to work and leave the Excursion on cinder blocks and take the wheels inside. HA HA, if I remember, I'll bring my camera in, you guys have got to see this...

What's the point of buying racing-ish tires on an excursion? Is he going to some auto-cross with them, I bet they are really give a harsh ride too and they certainly couldn't have been cheap either.

I don't see the point of low profile tires on an Excursion. A sports car, sure, but an Excursion?? [IMG]
Anyway, the reason I post this is because I remember in a movie (I forget which one, but I saw it not too long ago on DVD) someone put a boot (not locked) on their own car so that the cops wouldn't put theirs on. When they walked up to the car and one of them (who didn't know) said "I don't think we'll be going anywhere" and then the other one lifts the boot off the wheel and laughs. I wonder if that trick would work if you live in a city where they use boots.

Yeah, I've seen that movie too. Its hilarious. They walk out of a high-rise or something I belive. The "boot" is just the thin face almost like a cheap hubcap. He just pulls it off and throws it in the back of the car. As far as modding a SUV, I think anything that makes it less off-road worthy than they already are is stupid. Lowered Suburbans and excursions. Please, whats the point?!

It just means his excursion means a great deal to him. Infact, it's probablly one of his biggest joys. Ya it might look funny as all get out but no one is gonna be stealing his car are they?(Atleast not easily) I have a kill switch in my car, but that's not gonna stop someone from breaking in and trying to hotwire it, and messing up my instrument panel in the process.

Hmmmm a fake boot would be an excellent idea just like a few of you mentioned from that movie. That would maybe make a thief think twice about even trying to steal my car.....hmmmmmm.

Yeah, nothing to say about the fake boot, but to let everyone know Juan is right. It's Coyote Ugly.

Wouldn't it be easier for the guy to just buy wheel-lock nuts?

As for the "racing modified" SUV's, what's weird about that? Most SUV's aren't taken off road anyway, so why not have some fun with it.
