It's a Brit Crime Drama starring Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger. The show is based on a book series by Robert Galbraith. In reality, Galbraith is actually J.K. Rowling. I can't get enough of this series as I love the chemistry between the two lead actors. It's played on the BBC, but in the States on HBO, Cinemax and HBO Max.

I haven't seen it, but I do enjoy procedurals (like millions of others) so I may have to give this a whirl.

My parents back home in England recommended this show to me just recently and I started watching it last weekend. It’s been terrific and I am now almost through the third series. Great chemistry between the two leads, solid mysteries, too. I’m a fan.

Hadn't heard of it. Sounds like my cuppa, but I have enough other things of interest to get to, I don't know how long it'll take me to get around to this.

I viewed the first episode of season one earlier today. Pretty solid procedural with an interesting protagonist. The first episode had a nice glossy style to it and used a variety of upscale locations ('architecture porn' as I like to call it. :) ) to good effect. The final scene in episode one was predictable, but I guess I'll see where that goes in episode two.

Part of the attraction to a series like this is the British locations, accents, and vocabulary. It gives the series just an extra something that differentiates it from the countless American procedurals I've viewed over the years. Worth a look for fans of crime shows.

Part of the attraction for me is hearing the accents I grew up with, seeing the English cities I miss and the English countryside that I also dearly miss. It helps when the show is really well made and executed, too. It’s been the longest stretch of time these past few years of me not setting foot on my homeland, so spending time there in shows like this really does help!

Wife loves the Books and I didn't realize there was a Series so I'll pass that on to her assuming she wants to add something else to her watch list.

My attraction to the series is the two leads, particularly, Ms. Grainger.

Sometimes that doesn't help. My wife and I watched the first season of a British/Danish spy/thriller procedural called Red Election that aired here in the States on Ovation. It was a slog, and ultimately unsatisfying, despite having two cast members that we like: James D'Arcy (Jarvis in Agent Carter and other MCU appearances) and Stephen Dillane (Game of Thrones).

My attraction to the series is the two leads, particularly, Ms. Grainger.

I've seen her in other series here and there, but she never made much of an impression on me (other than a somewhat unusual name).

Well, I’m done with season four on HBO Max. It's listed as season two on HBO Max, but it's actually season 4 on BBC. I’m thinking the current season which is season 5 is now playing on the BBC. I love this series! Is there any way I can watch it here in the States?

The two partners have this special bond.
I do wonder if they’ll figure it out that it’s not just professionally that they should be partners in
.

My first impression of Holliday Grainger came in the 2016 film "The Finest Hours" with Chris Pine. Another Disney movie I wish was released on 4K disc.

Decided to view the second episode and I think I am hooked. Two observations...

One thing I like about the leads is that they both seem like decent people.

The show employs a lot of shots of Strike dealing with stairs and staircases. Visual metaphor for the difficulties he faces?

Since my December post, HBO Max has season 5 available now. It's listed as season 3 on HBO Max. I'll knock off those four episodes this weekend.
