Anybody do Christmas lights on the house and in yard? I figured seeing how some of you have extravagant home theaters you would do the same with Christmas lighting. I usually do a few lights on the house and in the yard, but this year just not in the mood this year.

I usually do. I'm either not this year, or I'll just put a few in the back yard. My inside is decorated, however.

We do. Nothing crazy, just making the house look nice.

However, we're the only house on our block to have lights up. Well, not exactly true, the people across the street have some flashing star thing on their door, but that's it. Meanwhile, the street behind us has a good 45% of the houses with lights on. My street looks deserted. My neighbors suck.

What I don't understand is, it was so warm so late into November I'm surprised more people didn't do anything. I mean, I hate being out there hanging lights when it's 30 degrees, damp, and windy. But when it's in the upper 60s like it was late into November I got the job out of the way but didn't turn them on until Turkey Night.

I never have, until this year. I put some lights on the bushes in the front yard. You can always see our Christmas tree through the front window, too.

When we first moved into the neighborhood 15 years ago, every house used to put lighted candles along the street on Christmas Eve. It looked so cool to see all the streets lit with candles. Unfortunately, that tradition died out over the past five years for some reason.

That thing slowed way up in my area, too. When I was in school, all the families in a couple of neighborhoods not far away would have the same lights along the sidewalks. When their kids grew up and moved on, they either moved too or just lost interest. Either way, you go through there now, and there are a few stalwarts keeping the same lighting scheme, but it's not everyone any more. Though, there is another neighborhood that doesn't do matching lights, but just about everyone decorates. My neighborhood has very little any more, including me this year. Here is what I had a couple of years ago (you can judge whether it's crazy or just making it look nice [/url]

I do some lights on the house and in the tree out near the sidewalk. For the creatures out back I have a lit Santa on top of the swing set. Nothing crazy, more in line with my old 760p Panny. But the tree always gets compliments. (Probably because it makes it easier for people to walk at night, as don't have streetlights in our neighborhood.)

I just put some lights around the front window that the tree is in and that's it. I've never been big on Christmas, but this year it seems like a lot of people aren't doing very much.

I like to do basic white lights along the garage and first floor windows.; also a lighted wreath on the door. I'd like to do lights along the roof to fill it out, but I haven't mustered the motivation yet. And this year, due to schedules, I didn't do the lights :(

I have the house lit up front, back and side that faces the street - the most lights I have done in awhile. It looks great!
