Does anyone know of any plans (even rumoured plans) for a DVD release of Yellowbeard?
I haven't seen this film in ages, but it keeps appearing on want lists, mine included. It's currently not even available on VHS, which makes me wonder if the rights have recently changed hands or something.
Any word -- even if it's just to say who owns the video rights these days -- would be appreciated.

Orion handled the US distribution which leads me to believe it's probably in MGM's hands now. Great movie, I'd love to own a copy.

I have been waiting for this to be released on DVD. I haven't seen it for years and it's still one of my favorites.

Strange that more people don't remember this film even though it has a cast of some of the greatest comedic actors IMO.

I would buy this today if it were available. I haven't even seen it on VHS at any stores.

Yellowbeard is the only VHS tape I still own and I was lucky to snag it on E-bay. Would love a copy on DVD!

"I got acute 'earing!"
"I don't care what your jewelry looks like!"
Only saw this movie once, many years ago, and I still remember that line. :D

This movie has one of my favorite "clever comeback for overbearing boss" lines spoken by Cheech Marin to Tommy Chong:

"yes, your blind stupidity!"

"Lamborne! Stop that man! 'E's pissin' on the hedge!"

Although some of my favorite lines shouldn't be written here...

Madeline Kahn cracks me up!

Where is this DVD already!!??

How can you find the section in your store when it comes out? Simple:

crawl...stagger...stagger...

stagger...crawl...stagger..

stagger...stagger...crawl

"I am now the richetht perthon in the world!!"

I'm still waiting for any word on Yellowbeard.

Does anybody know who holds the rights to this and when will they get off their butts and put it out on DVD already!

As Rob mentioned very early, this Orion title (as well as several others which have been released such as UHF and Dances With Wolves) is now under the ownership of MGM/UA.

So is Robocop.

I guess I'll throw my vote in for this to ,as I'd buy it day of release! this is even hard to find in rental stores now, so a DVD is a must. Too bad it isn't readally identifieable with some hollywood star/dirctor who currently has a hot movie, because then the studio would fast track it.

Doesn't MGM have the whole Orion catalog? I know they also have The Terminator, Bill & Ted and Robocop.

3 copies of Time Bandits, 3 Quest for the Holy Grail, 2 Life of Brian, (I could go on) and ZERO Yellowbeards.

This is the saddest travesty of the DVD world.

I remember this movie vaguely but as long as it is not as bad of Legend director's cut** I would buy it.

** No offense if you enjoyed Legend director's cut.

"...we were having a little cuddle."

"You mean I was RAPIN' ya!"

Definitely some classic lines in this one. I'd love to see this on DVD soon.

Still waiting for this one. I don't even know who has the rights to it, especially now after the changes at MGM/UA.

"...we were having a little cuddle."

"You mean I was RAPIN' ya!"
"I'm sure I killed the last one I raped!"

"Well, the afterplay was a bit on the rough side...but not fatal."
