I was flipping through the channels and came upon this movie today. It is like a "best of" early 80's teen sex comedy stars. Does anyone know when it might be released on dvd?

ps-When watching it. I kept feeling I was watching an adult live action version of that Charlie Brown river race movie.

GOOD GOD, I havent seen that movie since it first came to tape and cable back in the 80s! I remember the theme music to that movie still, and that I liked the film, but nothing else. What channel is it on, and will it be on again?

I always enjoyed that movie when it came to cable in the 80's. I have made the Charlie Brown connection, too! :)
I would buy it pretty quickly if it ever got released to DVD. That dog was the biggest star, but Matheson wasn't bad either! :) It was nice to see the "Otter/Flounder" reunion in there, with PeeWee from "Porky's" thrown in for good measure. But Jennifer Runyon...

! (Boy, she fell off the face of the earth after her appearance in the Quantum Leap pilot, eh?)
Cheap Trick did indeed rock on the theme song. Link RemovedI'm Up The Creek....I'm Up The Creek...I'm Up The Creek...without a paddle!Link Removed
MGM can bring this one on, as it was an Orion picture.

I actually saw this one in the theater the day it was released. I love this movie.
My 15 year old Vestron VHS tape is sorely in need of replacement. I hope they can dig up the "Making of" special as an added feature. :emoji_thumbsup:

ON a side note, if you are looking for a great comedy making fun of 80s films like this, try Wet, Hot, American Summer. One of the funniest films from last year, most critics hated it, but EW called it one of the years 10 best!
I have to agree with them. There are so many film references in it and many I dont recognize, and the Up The Creek stuff is in there I think, now that I reflect on the film.

I finally saw this today and loved it - funnier than Caddyshack, and no dreary pregnant-girl subplot. Bring it on, MGM - and don't screw it up!

Yeah, it aired locally in syndication here in Memphis yesterday. I watched it, even edited to shreds and P&S. :frowning:
Still funny as hell. The missus even chuckled a time or two while she was in the room. I would kill for a great OAR DVD of this puppy!

I LOVE Up The Creek! I've got the old laserdisc, the Cheap Trick video taped, the soundtrack, a 35mm trailer and the one sheet poster. How about a commentary with Tim Matheson and Stephen Furst on the DVD? The making of would be great too. I'm happy that MGM is doing Hot Dog. I feel it is the same caliber of film and maybe Up The Creek will show up in late 2003 or 2004.

I saw it on DVD and thought it was damn funny!
And yeah...I'd still buy Up the Creek. Not every day you get to see a dog playing Charades. :)

BOB: "Let me clairfy my position so that you can understand. A raft means a river, a river means rapids, and rapids spells death. You got the wrong guy."
DEAN BURCH: "Not so fast McGraw."
BOB: [counting on fingers for each word] "Okay, You've got the wrong guy."

BOB: "Was it good for me as it was for you that time?"
HEATHER: "Not exactly."

Another film that made the syndication circut for a while. I've seen this one on TV a few times, and it is enjoyable for what it is: 80s sex comedy.
