From what I can tell, Casablanca already has all the supplementals it could possibly have. A documentary with Lauren Bacall and an introduction by her. Plus the film looks pretty d*mn good on DVD.

If you need more stuff, you could always get the Creative Design box set with lobby cards, posters, and other goodies.

Casablanca's original soundmix was mono. To do a Dolby Digital remaster would require the original elements or re-record the foley effects & music. The latter option would throw out the original soundtrack while the first option might be cost-prohibitive. Casablance was mixed for mono and sounds great in mono.

old films like Casablanca and Citizen Kane were mixed in mono and should stay that way. (almost like an OAR for sound!)

i was wondering about Schindler's List and both Hot Shots! movies. anyone know anything about these?

I have an idea, Horatio. Pick up your center speaker and spin it around your head. Viola! Surround sound!

Seriously, I think that having the original audio presentation is just as important as OAR. There's no need for a synthesized surround track as they never sound that great anyway.
