I know this has been thrown around a lot but what was the outcome? Is the SE coming out anytime soon?

    Thanks

As far as I recall, Criterion has no intention of making the Game SE and if I remember, David Fincher has no intention of revisiting either.

That's a damn shame. With apologies to Seven and Fight Club, "The Game" is Fincher at his best. We sorely need a Criterion of this puppy [IMG]

    :b My bad.
In my defence, both these threads discuss the re-release, and neither mention it NOT being anamorphic.
    Thread 1
    Thread 2
Damin, just noticed you posted in the second. :b

    Paul,
I read both threads you have links too. Still, I could have sworn the first disc WAS anamorphic. I'll have to give it a check, maybe I'm dreaming. I'll post what I discover later.
Either way, it definitely deserves an SE. Should have gotten the Criterion laser back in the day....

So why don't they just copy the goods from the laserdisc to a Criterion DVD? I know there isn't too much to it (commentary, behind the scenes), but the Criterion laser is going for like $100 on ebay and the rest [IMG]

All versions in the US of "The Game" are the same disc. Non-anamorphic. It's a title that has played musical chairs more than virtually any. It has been re-released twice in the past 2 years. Polgram-USA Films-Universal. Same disc, different logo on the screen printing

I sent a message to the guy on the Criterion web site where you can ask about titles. He responded with something to the effect of "Criterion has no plans of making a GAME SE."
