I became a Type O fan out of necessity while in college, as my roommate was a rabid fan. I even ended up buying a couple of their albums on CD, although I gave them to my roommate once his copies disappeared.
October Rust was a good record, as was Bloody Kisses, IIRC...
Never got into World Coming Down too much, though I really liked the title track, "Everyone I Love Is Dead," and their version of the Beatles' "Daytripper".
What's that band up to these days? Anything new coming?
I haven't heard much about an upcoming album/tour. I'm really into "Slow, Deep, and Hard" right now, as well as "Bloody Kisses" and "World Coming Down". I hope to pick up October Rust by the end of the week. I think that Type O Negative is an excellent band.
From the way it was described to me, the hardcore metalheads look down on Type O as being nothing more than the metal version of the Backstreet Boys...
Personally, I think they're really good for their genre. Peter Steel has a great creepy voice that's well suited to their music.
Anyone who can make "Summer Breeze" into a gloom & doom song is in my cool book.
I like Type O alot, but I'm not sure if I would exactly consider them metal. Actually I don't know what I would call them, but thats just a label anyway.
Also, I'm not sure if you'd consider this new, but I know they had a greatest hits CD released a few years ago. "The Least Worst of"
Just saw this on the official website: www.typeonegative.net/news.html
