I became a Type O fan out of necessity while in college, as my roommate was a rabid fan. I even ended up buying a couple of their albums on CD, although I gave them to my roommate once his copies disappeared.
October Rust was a good record, as was Bloody Kisses, IIRC...
Never got into World Coming Down too much, though I really liked the title track, "Everyone I Love Is Dead," and their version of the Beatles' "Daytripper".
What's that band up to these days? Anything new coming?

I haven't heard much about an upcoming album/tour. I'm really into "Slow, Deep, and Hard" right now, as well as "Bloody Kisses" and "World Coming Down". I hope to pick up October Rust by the end of the week. I think that Type O Negative is an excellent band.

From the way it was described to me, the hardcore metalheads look down on Type O as being nothing more than the metal version of the Backstreet Boys...

Personally, I think they're really good for their genre. Peter Steel has a great creepy voice that's well suited to their music.

Anyone who can make "Summer Breeze" into a gloom & doom song is in my cool book.

I like Type O alot, but I'm not sure if I would exactly consider them metal. Actually I don't know what I would call them, but thats just a label anyway.

Also, I'm not sure if you'd consider this new, but I know they had a greatest hits CD released a few years ago. "The Least Worst of"

Just saw this on the official website: www.typeonegative.net/news.html
3 More Songs slated for Demo posted 6.13.02
According to Josh, 2 more songs have been finished for the demo/upcoming record, along with a cover song to be named later. The band hopefully will go into Systems 2 (Brooklyn) in the next couple weeks. Song titles as soon as Josh makes them up.
Demo Song Titles and Track Times posted 5.09.02
Just to whet your appetite for new material, here is the track listing (mostly working titles and not guaranteed to make final sequence, let alone the studio!):
    Nettie - 4:58
    I Like Girls - 2:49
    Valentine's Day - 5:07
    I Need Love - 7:03
    Anesthesia - 5:39
    Why Won't You Love Me - 7:11
    no title - 7:05
    Above All Things - 4:06
Life Is Killing Me - 9:06
Once again, please remember that most of these are working titles and demo songs, so the sequence and titles can and will change - from hour to hour, seems like!

I have 3 of their albums, but I prefer their poppier songs like "My girlfriend's girlfriend" and "Christian Woman".
